Rare uniform of the ROA 1943-1944
At the end of the summer of 1943, some eastern battalions received a new gray-blue uniform, sewn in the Russian style: a tunic with a turn-down collar, breast and side pockets, and trousers worn with boots and canvas leggings. Such uniforms were introduced in separate units stationed in 1944 in France. Probably, this uniform was developed and manufactured specifically for Russian units from the material used for uniforms of the German railway police. According to another version, stocks of captured French cloth from the First World War were used as material for the new uniform.
