Hello and welcome to my new alternate timeline mod. This mod explores the question of what if the filipinos won the philippine-american war? For those people who didnt know what the philippine-american war is: It was a conflict that happened from 1899-1902. Also known as the Philippine Insurrection, this is where the americans went to war with the first Philippine Republic headed by president Emilio Aguinaldo. The Americans have purchased the Philippines for $20,000,000 after the spanish-american war so the americans went to war to assimilate the Philippines into their country. In this alternate timeline, we’ll take a look on what would the world look like if the filipinos were victorious in this war.

here’s a little backstory for you guys to know what’s the situation:
backstory:
In 1901, America had surrendered in the philippine-american war after the philippines succeeded in uniting against the americans and now the fledgling nation of the philippines is now fully independent but now what? This fledgling independent nation has suffered many problems from ethnic tensions, inequality, influences from other foreign powers but despite all of that, the country’s stable but it’s in a power vaccuum due to the philippine american war. President Emilio Aguinaldo have been an unpopular president due to his authoritarian tendencies like shutting down political dissent. in the 1920s, communist groups such as the sakdalistas (an agrarian socialist movement) have started to revolted against Aguinaldo’s administration which lead to Aguinaldo started warming up with the americans (who’re their former enemies). That upsets the spanish filipinos (who’re anti american and pro-spanish monarchy) and that lead them to form The Spanish Crown Society or the Coronistas. Some generals were also angered by Emilio Aguinaldo’s tightening relations with america so some have started the ultranationalist party, the Bagong Katipunan (named after the original katipunan that overthrew the spanish) headed by Antonio Luna. it is 1936 and now the political climate has gone cold. With the election drawing near what happens next is up to you.

**Factions and parties**
Federal Government:
* The Federal Party
Leader: Sergio Osmena
Ideology: Conservatism
sub-ideologies: Osmenistas: Conservative Liberalism, Aguinaldo conservatives: Authoritarian Conservative Democracy
Founded by Emilio Aguinaldo in 1902, This party was founded after the success of the philippine-american war. They were originally the magdalo party.

* The Liberal Party:
Leader: Manuel Roxas
Ideology: Social Liberalism
Founded in 1910 by Juan Sumulong, the party was founded as an opposition to the federal party.

Radical factions:
* The Sakdalistas:
Leader: Benigno ramos
Ideology: Agrarian Socialism
Founded by Benigno Ramos, in 1922, they are an agrarian socialist party wanting to overthrow the Aguinaldo Administration after being disillusioned by the federal government.

* The Spanish Crown Society:
Leader: Enrique Zobel De Ayala
Ideology: Monarchism, Spanish Collaborationism
Founded in 1920s by Enrique Zobel De Ayala and his cousin Andres Soriano, The party’s goal is to bring back the philippines under the spanish crown but as a ceremonial head (ala Canada, Australia, New Zealand etc. etc.)

* The Bagong Katipunan:
Leader: Antonio Luna
Ideology: Proto-Fascism
Founded by antonio luna in the 1920s, disgruntled by Aguinaldo’s decision to strengthen ties with america, he created the Bagong Katipunan along with other disgruntled generals.

Fun Tidbits:
* Eager to modernize their army, The little federal republic decided to seek out other countries to help them out. One of those countries was Germany (which is still a monarchy) and that lead to the birth of the philippine-german cooperation.

* Kaiser Wilhelm ordered German Generals like: Erich Ludendorff and Heinz Guderian to help train the filipino troops in the german style and help modernize their equipment like giving them tanks (like Panzer 1s), newer rifles (Kar98k), field guns, etc. etc. (which lead to the birth of the German-Trained Troops)

* Another country they decided to cooperate with is their former foe, the USA to help quell the ever growing sakdalistas and the highly intensifying communist insurgency.

* The Americans sent them equipment like their helmets (Brodies), guns (Krags), backpacks, etc. etc. and some generals like John J Pershing even help train the troops as well. (this lead to the birth of the american-trained troops)

I’ll be making some expansions that includes other countries in this timeline in the future so stay tuned everyone : )
