Magikarp
In order to gain enough Exp to finally evolve into Gyarados, Magikarp joins the Rivals roster!
Now has Hikaru, Dracula, Final Smash, MT.Dedede and Kirby support!
Magikarp is a relatively light character with a surprisingly brutal combo game, but gimmicky and generally weak specials.
Special Attacks:
Neutral B – Splash. It wouldn’t be Magikarp without it! Jumps on the ground a fixed height and… that’s it. Unusable in the air. Not very useful, but you can cancel it into other moves.
Forward B – Tackle. Pretty self explanatory and can be jump cancelled. Very important to Magikarp’s horizontal recovery.
Up B – Bounce. Magikarp leaps gloriously into the air, and then plunges back down. It has a spike hitbox on the way down and armor, can be controlled almost imperceptibly, and can ONLY be cancelled by wall jump or air dodge. Without air dodge, you will probably be going on a short walk to a long blastzone if you use this offstage.
Down B – Flail. Magikarp’s wildcard. Damage and kill power increases with Magikarp’s percentage. The sound on contact changes with percent too!
(Does anyone want to tell Magikarp this means it’s lvl 30?)
Other Noteworthy Moves:
Down air. Low power, but semi spikes, has next to no endlag and can combo into basically anything near the ground. I have left it in for now because it is fun. Not sure how balanced it is though.
