Priest of Rathma *NO CUSTOM ART ASSETS*
Let’s start with the obvious question:
To be frank, because I’ve been sitting on this mechanically and thematically finished class for almost two and a half years and am no closer to being able to pony up the money to pay the commission for an artist. There are other reasons, such as Darkest Dungeon 2 releasing on Steam soon and the modding Discord in a bit of a limbo at the moment, but it sadly and primarily comes down to money.
Hopefully you can enjoy the class despite it just using cobbled together assets from the base game.
The Priests of Rathma are a holy order that strive to keep the balance between light and dark, both in the world at large and within their own battle practices. Any outsiders who have had the opportunity to witness them in action would likely condemn them as heretics due to their dabbling in arts both eldritch and necromantic. This has lead to their order being mostly shunned by commonfolk who fail to see their grander goal and instead focus on their means. Their arts are fearsome, and our Hamlet can use any strength they might provide.
The Priest of Rathma class is directly inspired by the Necromancer class from the Diablo series. Stats wise, he is close to the Grave Robber and is capable of slotting into a party as either an off-support or a Marking DPS.

There is a full complement of trinkets that come with this class but I won’t spoil any of them here. Rest assured, they’re all interesting in their own way.
I want to say thank you to the Moonlit Dungeon modding Discord. Many of the more complicated things in this mod were only possible because of the help of the kind folk over there. In particular, TheHolyChicken helped tremendously with the corpse skills and the Thrall skill. Without his help it would’ve been a huge pain in the ass getting those working as I had imagined so please go check out his mods and give him some love.
And a quick disclaimer. I don’t plan on updating this mod going forward and unless some kind soul provides art assets for free then it’s unlikely to ever get any. Additionally, while I did play test this a couple years ago when I was making it, I’m only one man with only my own mod list to test with. I ironed out every issue I came across and was able to use this class for a complete playthrough of the game so it should be pretty stable, but be warned nonetheless. As for class balance, I did my best to keep the power in check but I do remember him being stronger than any base game class by the time I stopped messing around with this class. In particular, it was difficult to balance the skills that consume a corpse considering the uncommon nature of corpses but hopefully I managed to strike something resembling balance overall.
