Japan Government Railway 2-8-2 Class D52, 2-8-4 Class D62 Steam Locomotive
—–Breif history of Steam Locomotives Class D52, D62—–
This steam locomotive had the most powrful boiler, used for heavy freight.
This was needed for transportation of excess freight in wartime, at the locomotive’s launch.
It was planned to use this locomotive more powerful than class D51 for more freight transpotation,
the most of them could not do their original perfomance because of poor building skills.
They were restored after war, and supported transportation by their high power.
And some excess locomotives were converted to class C62, for passenger use,
became the most powerful locomotive for passenger.
On the other hand, class D62 was born for using in low class lines by adding following trailer, same as class D60 and D61.
Some of them were preserved.
