Japan Government Railway 4-6-2 Class C57 Steam Locomotive
—–Breif history of Steam Locomotives Class C57—–
Class C57 are famous as ‘graceful lady’.
The reason of nickname is from the shape of large drive wheels followed from class C51,
and shape of thin and long boiler.
In mechanical side, the specs are improved properly from class C55, they become more easy to use locomotive.
As the result, they were built 201 cars.
We can see preserved cars all in Japan, and dynamic preservation exist 2 cars.
