Description
The ED16 was manufactured for the electrification of Kofu on the Chuo Main Line and the Shimizu Tunnel section of the Joetsu Line, which took place in the early 1930s.
It pulled passenger and freight trains from 1931 to 1984.
From 1959, it was gradually repainted in a brighter grape color #2.
