Japan Government Railway 2-8-2 Class D50, 2-8-4 Class D60 Steam Locomotive
—–Breif history of Steam Locomotives Class D50, D60—–
This is the breakthrough locomotive in end of Taisho-Era, called as class 9900 at first, changed name into class D50 in 1928.
The layout of 2-8-2 was followed to class D51, D52.
Because their high power allowed to pull 1,000 tons train, railway facilities in Japan were based on this locomotive.
So this locomotive was breakthrough too at the transport history in Japan.
After years, this was renovated into class D60, 2-8-4 layout, because of getting old and converting to low-class lines.
These are meritorious locomotives running in Japanese steam locomotives’ last years.
Preserved 2 cars as D50, and 4 cars as D60.
