A character made in only 2 weeks as a part of Year of the Gaper 2023 Modjam. The theme was "Dungeons and Dragons", so in this character we tried to port the gameplay as The Warlock class as faithfully as possible, while still trying to make it fit into the world of Isaac and at the same time provide the feeling of novelty
Erin starts with her pocket active – Pact of Flame, a book that upon use casts one of the spells from your inventory. At the beginning, you start with only 2 of them, but each floor you will be able to expand your inventory by at least one more spell. But be careful, since the mana amount you have is limited, and also each floor you have 3 random Restrictions, which act like base game’s Curses, but instead of providing a punishment, they take one of your core abilities away!
In your journey through the Basement you may see a lot of familiar looking special rooms, but this time they will all act a lot differently. For example, Devil room will provide you with more spells, in Shops you will be able to have a rest to refill your health and mana and in Treasure rooms you’ll find some pennies, which are more useful than ever if you play as Erin! And there are much more room changes here and there, but I’ll leave you some free space for the exploration, so you gotta find out yourself what surprises does the Basement hold for Erin. All I’m gonna say is that be sure to check out Planetariums, you won’t be disappointed!
