JNR Series 72-920
This was the final group of Series 72 trains that were added to the fleet starting in 1956, and had an all-metal body with a lightweight structure.
The bogies were also integrally cast TR48 and DT20 bogies. These forms were the culmination of JNR’s old performance trains and were carried over to new performance trains such as Series 101.
