It’s the year 1176 and Manuel I Komnenos army is at the pass of Myriokephalon, when his scouts notice that the turks have just prepared an ambush agains the Byzantine army. So the emperor decide to encircle them and ambush in turn. The Rum army was completly decimated, with the Battle of Myriokephalon being remembered for the centuries to come as the revenge of Manzikert. After this battle the Byzantines eventually reconquered all of Anatolia, finally completing the Komnenian Restoration started by Alexios Komneos. Anatolia remained in Byzantines hands for nearly a century, until the Mongols invaded. First they managed to resist against them, until they were defeated at the Battle of Melitene in 1262, and Costantinople lost once again control of the region, just like in 1071. When the Mongol empire collapsed, some local rulers emerged: the Greek family of the Gidos in the Pontus, the Turkish Eretnidoglu in the middle, and the Karamidoglu in the south. Emperor Andronikos III Komnenos announced the Second Komnenian Restoration, and managed to reconquer the western part of Anatolia, but failed to do more than this. The successors of him were no different, and now the Byzantine Empire is in a crisis which is enduring by half a century. In the west, (Because of no fourth crusade), the Republic of Venice has lost his power, and the Duchy of Milan, lead by Gian Galeazzo Visconti, has conquered most of Northern Italy. In 1419, the Pope called for help against Milan. France, alongside with Savoy and Venice, joined the cause. But the army of Milan, allied with Austria, inflicted a devastating defeat to the French army in Aosta, thus confirming the conquests of the Visconti, which proclamed themself as "King of Lombardy". What will the future of Europe look like?
