Description:

—–Breif history of Steam Locomotives Class A8 series—–

They are 2-4-2 locomotives, broke the precedent that had been imported of 2-4-0 locomotives.
They are called as ‘A8-Class’ by Japan Railway Bureau, and the cumulative fleet is sometimes referred to ‘A8 series’, collectively.
After the nationalization of private railwys, they were organized into three-digit numbers according to manufacturer or size.
Although there are minor differences, the basic dimensions are the same.
They were valued for many years as locomotives with affordable size and performance.
