Description:

The main character of Sonic Battle. An all-around character that can fight effectively from any range.

ABOUT EMERL:
Emerl combines quick frame-data with lightning-fast movement and a large projectile to make sure he can always control the stage at all times. However, this is off-set by his very short range on most of his attacks, as well as his lack of a good recovery should he end up off-stage with no side special.

–Like any Sonic-series character should have, Emerl has above-average movement stats, being able to run fast and jump high.

–Emerl has a very intricate and versatile combo game. By CANCELLING various attacks such as his jabs, up tilt, dash attack, down strong, or neutral air, he can string together fast combos reminiscent of combo-heavy fighting games.

–Emerl’s Side Special, PURSUIT, is his bread-and-butter tool: A diagonally-upwards dash that can be cancelled both into and from, the angle of which can be slightly controlled by holding up or down during start-up.
While it does no damage on its own, the movement Pursuit provides opens up Emerl’s combo game immensely, provides an easy-to-access movement option for players who struggle at that sort of thing, and gives him a very unpredictable recovery when combined with other movements. Cancelling Pursuit into a Forward Aerial will also empower the sweet-spot of the attack, indicated by a special sound.

–Emerl’s Up Special, BOOST JUMP, is a slow, armored ascent that can be cancelled out of with an attack or an air dodge, even if Emerl has already air dodged! (This only works once) You can combine Boost Jump, Pursuit, and air dodge cancelling to make your recovery very unpredictable.

–Emerl’s Down Special, FLICK, has set knockback. This means it will always launch opponents at the exact same power, no matter what their % is, whether 0 or 200. This makes the attack very consistent to follow-up off of!

–Emerl’s Neutral Special, CHAOS SHOT, does not stop after it hits someone, allowing it to hit multiple opponents in a 3- or 4-player match. In fact, it keeps going until it touches ground, which makes it perfect for edge-guarding.
