Real Pikemen for Cataph’s Southern Realms
This is a submod for Cataph’s Southern Realms that changes pikemen to behave like they do in Rome 2 or Attila.
Read this: Cataph knows all about this mod, and has rejected its inclusion in Southern Realms, and for good reason. And that reason is a major pathfinding bug. When in formation, pikemen have no idea how to attack a single-entity unit like a lord or hero, and they will fall into their "chase routing unit" pathing. It’s not pleasant, so use this submod at your own risk. Guard mode alleviates some of the issue!
Place this mod above Southern Realms in your Mod Manager!
This mod gives the phalanx formation to Pikemen, The Tercio of Parravon, Ricco’s Republican Guard, Alcatani Fellowship, Pirazzo’s Lost Legion, and Leopard Company. It also gives them a newly created animation set "hu1_teb_pike" allowing them to use pike animations while in formation. These new animations allow them to utilize their weapon’s reach and to attack over each other, which does not happen for other attack animations. The formation activates and deactivates through a unit ability, so it is toggleable by the player, with the formation being off as the default.
This mod removes the "Push of Pikes" passive ability from each of the units.
