Description:

Hi!
I present to you the next map from the ‘Realistic Start’ series. This time it’s Südberesisches Tiefland or the Southern Beresian Lowlands.

Beresia gained its independence after the first World War from Germany and in the very short period leading up to the second World War was very prosperous. Sadly, it suffered heavy damange and now needs to be rebuilt. Are you up to the task?

The biggest city and the capital of the region – Beresrode – lays on the main river flowing through the map. It was the city’s main source of prosperity in the 19th century, which lead to a boom in population. An integral part of the city is the harbour, which was expanded in the 1930s. It is connected to the rest of the map by a big railyard. Another big part of the city’s interwar developements is the cement factory located on its outskirts.

Another important place on the map is Rheianshaven, which is home to a large railway station and some industry. The station is a place where two important railway lines meet. Ambitious projects from the period before the war suggested connecting it with the capital via a motorway. The project however was not finished, and a part of the bridge above the river was damaged.

The entire region is home to many smaller towns with industry scattered around. Some honourable mentions are coal mines, which are connected to the nearest town via an electric intercity tram and an unfinished power plant. The railway network is very dense and developed, though heavily damaged.

Of course there is much more to discover and fix, have fun!
This is my first map, which is largely taken up by flatlands, giving you much more freedom to construct new cities and industries.
