Emissaries of Diplomacy
This mod helps you discover other Legendary Lords of the same race, with early game quests/missions – without discovering enemies. Upon completion, the player establishes diplomacy with target faction and also gains a slight, but permanent boost in relations. Very useful for initial agreements like non agression pacts and trade agreements.
Ever wanted to confederate a faction, just to find out it was destroyed on turn 20, with no opportunity to enter diplomacy with them, let alone confederate?
Do you dislike sending valuable agents across the Old World to find your pals, discovering enemies that turn into real nuisance – I’m looking at you, Tzeentch.
If yes, then this mod is for you!
- Missions for Cathay, Ogre Kingdoms, Dark Elves, Dwarfs, Empire, Greenskins, High Elves, Kislev, Lizardmen, Skaven and Vampire Counts
- Early game quests/missions to discover other Legendary Lords of your race, starting from turn 5
- Gain a bonus to relations, which helps offset aversion penalty and threat modifiers
- Doesn’t reveal land – you won’t meet potential would-be enemies (especially useful to avoid Tzeentch and his daemonic buddies)
- Lore friendly and flavourful quests
- Quests are logically ordered to prioritize factions that tend to die first, or are very far away by default
- Missions include all races that can confederate and don’t already have specific mechanics to force confederation
- If target faction of a specific mission gets destroyed, the mission will automatically abort at the start of the next turn, bad luck!
- If you for whatever reason don’t want to complete specific missions, you can manually cancel them as you would do normally, in the missions tab
Savefile compatibilityWhile this mod is technically savefile compatible, quests trigger on specific turns in early game, meaning if you have already advanced beyond those triggers, they will not activate.
With that in mind, I highly recommend you start a new campaign as quests trigger from turn 5 and onwards.
Compatibility with other modsThis mod should be compatible with most if not all mods. However, if quests do not work, try disabling possible conflicting modifications (complete diplomacy revamps come to mind).
Frequently asked questions- Does this mod enable forced confederation?
-No, this mod doesn’t have missions for forced confederation - Is confederation easier than base game?
– You get a mild boost in relations for completing missions for particular factions, however this mod doesn’t rework in game diplomacy formula, or how diplomacy works in general - Why didn’t you include factions like Bretonnia, Wood Elves and Norsca?
– Those factions already have mechanics that either force confederation, such as Bretonnia and Wood Elves, or have a mechanic of beating their LL in battle to confederate - Will you update this mod for future DLC and races, specifically for Chaos Dwarfs and future DLC?
– Yes, if Chaos Dwarfs and future races have the option to confederate, and provide multiple LL’s (or unique lords that aren’t playable)
