This mod is an exercise in absolutely abusing the game’s framework to mod things that shouldn’t be modded. There’s no way I’ll maintain this thing forever, and no guarantees that it’s stable.

Some people wondered what it would be like if your ships could communicate PD targets, so that your fleet doesn’t waste half its AMM stock on two incoming missiles. This mod tweaks a bit of the game’s logic to make that happen. When a ship on your team spots a PD target, it attempts to register itself as the one to shoot down the missile, which it can only do if COMMS are ON (XMIT). Any other ships on the network will not attempt to launch AMMs at the same target.

If a ship on your team is for some reason unable to communicate with that lead ship (i.e. you lost your antenna; RECV is still fine), it will fire its own AMMs as a defensive measure.

NOTE: this is NOT a mod that you can just run individually in a multiplayer game. Only the host of the game must run it, and it will affect everyone in the game. There will be no warning that the lobby is modded!
