Description:

Create your own Religions & Heresies with fully customizable names, doctrines and holy sites with the Custom Faiths mod!

WARNING: I’m no longer supporting this mod. I unlisted it at one point because I didn’t want to keep supporting the mod and it wasn’t in a state I was very happy with, but I guess if anyone still wants to subscribe to it, you can. The basic mod features are working, but some doctrines don’t function entirely or at all.

Features:
*Create a new Religion or Heresy using the decisions tab!
*Name everything about your religion, from its name to its scripture and the title of priests, almost everything is customizable!
*Choose your religion’s nature and doctrines!
*Set your religion’s holy sites!
*Install a religious head!
*Declare holy wars and spread your newfound faith to every corner of the known world!
*Game rules to customize your experience!
And more to come!

This mod is playable, but it has its issues. As of now it’s more of a proof of concept than an entire experience. Please report any bugs you come across, and give feedback on what features you think should be added.

The Old Gods or Holy Fury expansions are required as the custom religions are in the pagan group. You can still get the Old Gods for free by just subscribing to the Paradox Newsletter, so this shouldn’t be an issue for anyone.

Known issues:
Although a religion’s icon works just fine when it’s a heresy, taking its parent religion’s icon and turning it red, it changes back to the generic pagan icon when it topples its parent religion. Unfortunately, I don’t think this can be fixed, as religion icons cannot be changed while the game is running.
Only 5 religions can be created per campaign. This is simply due to how CK2 works. It isn’t possible to actually "create" a new religion. All of them have to exist in the files from the very beginning. This number will be increased in the future once I’ve streamlined the process a bit more, as the code can be a bit of a mess at times.
Some Doctrines and Natures don’t work entirely as they should. I haven’t detected all of these, but the two examples I know of are Divine Marriage not giving you a piety bonus when marrying close-kin (It does allow you to do so, though!), and Prepared Invasion not working. Some Doctrines are excluded entirely because of this.
Crusades aren’t enabled. For whatever reason, they are extremely buggy. I figured since you can’t call them yourself (yet),
