Introducing the Jack-Knife, a Beginner Docks spawnable early career tanker. With the new oil drilling major update only a couple of weeks away you need to get ready to start a new career save, and this is the starter tanker for you! With a very low price-tag of $49.8k, the ability to spawn in the Beginner Docks, a generous cargo volume of 35.6k, and a cruise speed of 40 knots, this tanker will maximise your profits in any early career and make any fluid transfer a breeze, all while looking like an actual tanker instead of a giant bath tub lmao. Truly the tankery nature of this tanker cannot be overstated, its a mini tanker that looks like a tanker while it tanks! What more could you want?

Keeping this ship below 50k in price has also left a lot of room for customisation and upgrading. There is plenty of room to add all the luxuries, modifications, and customisation you need as your career progresses and your bank balance grows! Add radar, map screens, an anchor system, more equipment, even outfit the interior or add some paint blocks with your personal logo! The room for making this tanker your own is endless.

Instructions

  • Start the engines with the key to the left of the steering wheel. Let the RPM stabilise before adding any throttle
  • W/S is Forward/Reverse, or you an directly click the throttle – all clutches etc are automatic
  • The throttle has a deadzone between -0.05 and 0.05 where the waterjets will be in neutral, for ease of use.
  • A/D is steering
  • AutoPilot is engaged after entering a waypoint with the keyboard via the button on the ceiling panel with the light switches
  • You can still turn the vessel even if it is in neutral

Filling/Emptying the Cargo Tanks

  • Keep the engines on while pumping to keep the batteries topped up
  • Red side is pumping out, White side is pumping in.
  • There are 6 pumps, 3 each for pumping in and out
  • Connect a hose to a nozzle and flip the corresponding switch
  • You can fill or drain any tank from any connection, the cargo tanks will self balance
