Description:

"Ahh, the pleasant sensation of surfing the aether. Who am I to restrict anthropomorphs from such delight? He might have crashed a few times but eventually we got there." -CryptoSeven

Here’s a video Wolfire did on this mod. It includes instructions on how to install and use it:

Controls:

F key toggles flight on or off.

– Hold left mouse button (lmb) to flap wings and gain height.
When doing this you control direction with wasd movement keys.

– Hold rmb to glide. In this mode you will fly where you look.

Shift key activates air dash. When dashing you will go very fast and can bounce off the ground.
With high enough speed it can even be used to kill enemies.
You get one dash per flight but can reactivate it by wall jumping or killing enemies.

– While gliding you can grab enemies.
Make sure to have enough speed and swoop in on them holding rmb.
Hold space key and rmb if you want to glide without grabbing nearby enemies.

G key is the updated debug/editor only lightning key (unless you rebound it, in which case it should use your existing binding)

FAQ

Q: I see a "File Conflict" when trying to enable the mod. What do?

A: This means you have another mod enabled that is conflicting with this mod. You have to disable the other mod first in order to use this one. Anything that alters the player camera or behavior is likely to do this (like the first person mod, or various combat mods).

Q: The F button isn’t working? I don’t do anything

A: You have to hit F to enable flight (or disable it – so don’t just mash the button, hit it once and try it). Then you use other controls to fly. See the control reference above. If this still isn’t working, make sure you have the mod enabled in the game’s Mods menu. Also, make sure you restart the game before trying to use the mod!

Q: I see "incompatible version" in the mods menu. How do I fix it?

A: This means you have to wait for an update for the mod, since the mod hasn’t been updated to work with the latest version of the game. I will update it when I have time to do so.

Q: How do I change the key bindings?

A: The key bindings are now configurable in your config file! You have to edit the file directly to enable this, because I didn’t want to hack the settings menu (yet), because that would further cause incompatibilities with other mods. To do this, open this file

Documents/Wolfire/Overgrowth/Data

and edit these values:

key[flying_mod_toggle_flying]: f key[flying_mod_debug_lightning_override]: i

(If you’re on a different OS, see this page for the config file location: Wolfire Wiki: Configuring Overgrowth[wiki.wolfire.com])
