After a few hundred hours of Attila I have decided to create and release my first mod.

Thank you to MINOS for allowing me to use his mod, No Unit Upgrades – WIP https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=610314108, as my starting point and inspiration.

Introducing: Fitzkrieg’s Dynamic Garrisons and No Unit Replacement

The first goal of the mod is to keep lower tier units accessible to the player even after researching upgrades, as sometimes these upgrades result in an inexpensive and effective unit being replaced by a much more expensive and only marginally better unit. No more losing your Germanic brigands to an "upgrade".

*A/N: Most units will show between 1-3 duplicates, there may still be some redundant units recruitable that do not actually upgrade to anything. If you find any of these, please let me know in the comments and I will try to fix them all*

Second goal of the mod is having more exciting and dynamic settlement battles. Roughly 95% of my hours in Attila are as the WRE and using the same four to five units has gotten tiring. This mod adds garrison units to most agricultural, military recruitment, barbarian/celtic/nordic/slavic industrial, and several administration buildings.

Last goal has been combining the above two goals into one. The tier of the building or settlement (cities will be one step better than towns) will correspond with the tier of the garrison. Example would be (assuming the research has been completed), a Civitas (Lvl 1 city) garrison would be a Comitatensis Spears, and two Legio, while a Municipium (Lvl 2 city) would have Western Auxilia Palatina and Legio Comitatenses, but a Vicus (Lvl 1 town) would be limited to a garrison of Limitanei Borderguards and Cohors.

No longer will some tiny border village be garrisoned by Cornuti Seniores but a Fortified Town (Lvl 4 town) would have a garrison of them.

*Second A/N: Starting garrisons will be at partial strength, this is because I do not have the time or energy to modify the start_pos to accommodate roughly 200 new units across every settlement. This will make the first few turns more challenging, especially as the WRE or the ERE. Now you can really feel how Flavius Stilicho felt trying to hold the empire together.*

As this is my first mod of this scale, there will be possible bugs or crashes. If you encounter any please let me know.

Hope you enjoy.
