Description:

Department store Centrum based on the Warsaw department store CDT which was designed by Zbigniew Ihnatowicz and Jerzy Romańskiin in a modernistic style and built in the early 1950s.

There are two versions included: The first one more closely resembles its real life CDT counterpart featuring large windows as they were common for department stores until the mid-1960s. The second version has its windows replaced by sculptured metal facade elements as they were commonly used in the second half of the 1960s and in the 1970s (the ones used here are designed after the Leipzig Konsument Warenhaus). Both versions feature a large “Centrum” neon sign (the name Centrum was most commonly used for department stores in East Germany but it could also be found on some Polish and Czechoslovak department stores as well). Although the design featured here is entirely fictional neons of similar scale and style were actually used in that era – for example in Warsaw, Dresden or Erfurt.

The main design goal for this department store was for it to look like a generic 1960s department store that could be used in different national settings.
The first (older) version costs around 50.000 ruble and has a capacity of 400 shoppers while the second enclosed version costs around 60.000 ruble and can hold around 500 visitors.

The CEDET department store made by Robal for Cities:Skylines has been used as the basis for creating this although the 3D model, the textures as well as the UV maps were (sometimes heavily) changed to be more in line with the original construction, my design preferences as well as to be better rendered in Workers and Resources.
