BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

MS Coolidge, a late 40’s and 50’s short range Atlantic vessel. It is a smaller style ship with 3 watertight compartments. The ship has many good features and a 100% detailed interior.

The MS Coolidge has many features such as:

Fire alarms

Fire suppression systems

Water tight doors that can be closed in many different ways

Fully detailed interior

Cargo compartments that can have cargo be put in

Lifeboat Davits

OTHER REMARKS:

Must be spawned through the addon editor unless you have changed the workbench size

The ship is a wide turner so make space for turns. For better turning you can decrease the throttle in the direction you want to turn. Just make sure it doesn’t go to 0% because you will have to start up the engine again.

The ship may be unstable in high winds.

Would HIGHLY recommend closing watertight doors manually (Via switch next to door) As this will activate the watertight door lights. Although the watertight door switch on the bridge will activate the indicator lights on the panel.

I would also recommend checking other ships I have made.

Please give any feedback, questions, or things you would like me to add to the ship!

Lore: (Fictional)

The MS Coolidge was a small ship that was first launched in the summer of 1948. The MS Coolidge was built with the purpose of sending humanitarian relief to eastern Europe, especially in places like Poland which had suffered massive amounts of damage to cities and services. Unfortunately, this didn’t end up happening. With the Soviet union not liberating but instead occupying the eastern block in what would be called the Warsaw pact. The Soviets let limited amount of Cargo and recourses from western nations such as the United states and western Europe. Even though the ship couldn’t work its intended purpose the United states funded the project for 8 ships, of which only 6 of them would be built due to eventual budget cuts. The Coolidge had its keel laid down in early 1947 with construction ending on August the 13th 1948 along with its few sister ships. superstitious people say that it was the date "13th" that would be the cause for many of its mishaps and tragic events…

During the launch a camera man who was filming it was killed when the wave from the launch made him slip and fall off the platform causing him to drown while unconscious. Although with the death right away the first few years of the ship went without incident, besides when she rammed the pier on the starboard bow. It was the year 1954 where sinister things started. An engine room mechanic was electrocuted while doing routine maintenance when an unknown power surge in the ship happened. He ended up dying early morning the next day. Another crewmate was killed while on watch duty. He was out one night when all of a sudden a rouge wave estimated to be over 55ft tall. The crew member, Tyler Hughes was killed while trying to find shelter. 3 crew members in 1956 had heart attacks at different times in the year. Although the time at which they happened was around 1:00 PM or 13:00, military time. Again, "13" Was the number that was feared while on the ship. In 1962 after numerous breakdowns and a lack of funds from the company that ran it, it was sold to another company where it was a museum ship. The story of accidents and creepy incidents didn’t stop though..

While as a museum ship in Boston it attracted many history and maritime enthusiasts. Although marketed as a family attraction that was safe, it may have been anything but. In the first month opened someone lost a hand when one of the watertight doors shut abruptly. Yet no one was on the bridge to close it. Another incident happened in the winter of 1965 when someone had a stroke and suffered with brain damage the rest of their lives. Other more paranormal things have happened on the ship too. People have reported hearing loud bangs and grinding sounds while in the lower compartments. It is said if you hear whispering to get out of the ship immediately. For those who try to communicate back have been said to have had bloody noses, static sounds, and paranoia. In 1983 a big event happened that would change the ship forever. On September 13th at 1:07PM the ship caught fire and rolled onto its port side killing 7 people including 2 children. That night the Governor of Massachusetts, Michael Dukakis gave a speech talking about the incident in Boston.

It is safe to say that the MS Coolidge is an understandably paranormal ship. Other say it is just a coincidence. However the ship will have its name in History and the tragedies will be remembered by the families and the people of Boston for quite some time.
