Description:

Jackpot…? Donte from the Devil Mayn’t Cry series joins Rivals of Aether..

Donte is primarily a stance-based character, bearing his iconic trickster, swordmaster, gunslinger, and royal guard stances. He brings his expansive arsenal of guns, swords, gauntlets, and devil powers to the fray, allowing for an adaptive playstyle, a diverse combo game, and smokin’ sexy style..

Specials:

Neutral special (Swordmaster Stance/Prop/Shredder): Donte enters Swordmaster stance, expanding his arsenal of oppressive melee weaponry for an impressive advantage state, ideal for comboing enemies. Pressing neutral special while in Swordmaster stance will perform Prop, an attack in which Donte spins his blade, sending opponents upward. Additionally, holding neutral special will instead perform Shredder which sends opponents outward.

Side special (Gunslinger Stance/Bullet Charge): Donte enters Gunslinger stance, swapping his arsenal from sword-based combat to mid ranged gun-based combat. While in Gunslinger stance, press side special again to charge your weapons for a single powerful shot from any of his gunslinger attacks.

Up special (Trickster Stance/Teleport): Donte enters Trickster stance. Pressing up special again while in Trickster stance will allow Donte to teleport in any direction without being put into freefall.

Down special (Royal Guard Stance/Release): Donte enters Royal Guard stance, wherein upon successfully parrying any attack, Donte’s Royal Guard meter will rise. Press down special again to release your gauge in a powerful counterattack that varies depending on how much you’ve filled your gauge.

April fools! So, to offer a bit of explanation, this was my first character. I wanted to make a rough draft for a Dante character, until finishing it and ultimately deciding "y’know maybe there’s a reason no one’s made a good Dante build yet"..this character has like over 50 moves, and animating every one of them sounded…less than ideal. So, have fun! Some of the hitboxes are off and the animations are all varying degrees of distorted, but personally, I prefer to call Donte the best kind of disaster: a funny one.

(P.S. He has an air taunt; it’s epic trust)
