Description:

Making the game take a bit of a chill pill.

This mod specifically alters several variables in XComGameData.ini to give the default strategy game a more relaxed tempo, whether because you feel vanilla XCOM 2 is a bit too hectic or because you’ve installed so many different feature mods that you want more time to actually do them all without feeling like you’re deliberately delaying finishing the campaign.

Note that for users of major strategy overhauls like Covert Infiltration or LWOTC, you’ll need to delete some of these changes to let the overhaul still function properly.

Supply Drop Timer

MaxSuppliesInterval which controls how long it takes for each supply drop: this is now 30 days instead of 21 days. Each supply drop behind the scenes is considered a "month", which helps influence stuff like how many pods you may face on a mission and what not.

Tactical Mission Difficulty

By default the game increases the "alert" level of missions over a specific amount of months, increasing the amount of enemies you face both in total and per pod. Since the extended supply drop timer extends your progression speed in other areas, this is stretched out for a couple more months to give the player more time to catch up.

You need to change this one if you’re using a overhaul

MissionDecks in XComGameState_MissionCalendar, which in a vanilla game the game does a variety of missions averaged out for about 8 days of free time between missions. (Though obviously there’s periods where it seems like everything happens over three days and then you got times where it actually takes a bit before something pops up on the Geoscape)

The extended length the mod provides ups that to about 11 and a half days of free time.

However, if you’re using a mod like Covert Infiltration or LWOTC, you need to delete these changes in the mod’s XComGameData.ini – it’ll mess up how those mods overhaul how missions are spawned.

Force Level

Finally, to help compensate for the slower rate of missions and corresponding loot intake, the rate of alien force level increase has been changed as well. It’s now 15 days on average for Commander and below, while it’s 20 days on Legend. To keep things a bit spicy, there’s also a randomized increase or decrease of up to 72 hours for each force level increase period.

You can delete these changes as well if you’re using your own Force Level modification, this is just here by default so you don’t face a Sectopod while the slowed rate of advancement means you’ve just upgraded to magnetic tier weapons.
