Description:

Are you sick of sieges?

Towards the mid to end game of most games I’ve played, sieges become the most common type of warfare. Unfortunately this can be very repetitive over time, and it very much limits your army to certain builds. In short, all round, it can become annoying and unfun.

This mod attempts to do away with seiges by a simple but effective strategy: It turns the AI into a frenzied attacker who will sally forth at the slightest opportunity. Indeed frenzied attacker is a mild comparison, this mod actually decapitates pretty much completely the AI’s ability to correctly judge the threat posed by opposition forces and the AI will happily commit forces against impossible odds.

Note: This doesn’t necessarily make the game easier, an AI which is quite willing to play attritional battles against you in itself poses it’s own problems.

Simply rock up with your forces, lay siege, and the city you’re sieging *will* sally forth against you during the AI’s turn.

This mod is not intended as a long term mod. It is save game compatible, and the intent is that you switch it on and off depending on where you are in the game and, honestly, how bored of sieges you are at that point.

I very much doubt this mod is compatible with most large overhaul mods as they themselves play with the same tables this mod plays with.

This mod has no effect whatsoever on the following things: The Battle AI (which is seperate from the Campaign AI), How the AI builds its forces, How the AI pursues it’s long term goals, Diplomacy.

It just effectively make the AI the most agressive and frenzied attacker possible when choosing which battles it wishes to fight, and, most importantly, it will always, always Sally Forth when sieged.
