Vanilla DuffelBag Tweak
NOTICEAs of today, January 5th – 2025, the mod should work without issues.
Be aware that if you use any mods that modify the vanilla duffel bag scripts, there might be incompatibilities with my mod.
A relevant one with which players have been having issues is the Better Bags mod, which increases the Capacity for the duffel bags (amongst other bags and properties).
I managed to make them compatible so both bags would share the same properties, but the issue goes beyond that and happens when you move the bag from Back to Lower Back and vice versa, that being that the bag gets duplicated.
The issue happens regardless of if you’re using my mod and Better Bags together or not, but is way easier to encounter it when using both (the bag will get duplicated if you move it from Back to either Primary or Secondary hand when only using the Better Bags mod) — so I advise against using them in conjunction, at least for the time being.
This mod lets you equip the vanilla Duffel Bag on your back or lower back, can be used with any backpacks (modded or not) as this mod only adds an extra option to the vanilla Duffel Bag. You don’t need to craft or learn/read anything, just right click your Duffel Bag and you should see the Wear option. There you can choose between Equip on Back and Equip on Lower Back.
- This mod doesn’t change/edit any other bags.
- Should work in multiplayer without any issues.
- Neither the Duffel Bag’s spawn rate nor properties have been changed.
- Tested on existing save, shouldn’t override/delete neither your Duffel Bag nor its contents.

The only downside is that attachment mods, such as Two Weapons on Back, AuthenticZ’s and Noir’s Attachments, etc, don’t work on the DuffelBag at the moment. Compatibility might require the mod authors to make this mod compatible with theirs, or me making this mod compatible with theirs (which I’ll try).
I don’t know how to contact them or if they will be willing to make our mods compatible. In the meantime I recommend using Noir’s Rifle Slings or Two Weapons on Back Rework, which should work without issues.

NOTICE, Nov. 29th – 2024I’ve been testing the mod (as of November 29th, 2024) and it works without issues — players that have been experiencing issues could be due to other mods, or because of the outdated Two Weapons on Back mod (and therefore my "compatibility patch"), either way, I’ll be updating this mod with some possible fixes.
I have already implemented some changes in a local version but I’ll playtest a bit more to ensure that everything works fine. I have also deleted the Two Weapons on Back Compatibility Patch since it doesn’t work anymore due to the original mod being outdated and pretty much out of service.
I’ll work on another patch OR include it in the updated version of this same mod. Beware that if you were already using this mod, an update might delete your duffelbags and therefore your items.
The reworked version of Two Weapons on Back should work without issues when paired with this mod — the Two Weapons on Back modder reworked their mod in a way in which compatibility patches aren’t required for mods like mine.
