Description:
SS Cliffs Victory

The Cliffs Victory was a large bulk carrier that saw service on the Great Lakes of North America. The ship was initially built as a WWII freighter called the Notre Dame Victory, but a conversion in the 1950s in Bethlehem Steel’s Maryland yard saw her converted into a large lake bulk carrier. The hull was towed up the Mississippi River to Chicago to be completed and brought into service. The vessel was lengthened to 714 feet in 1957, making her the Queen of the Lakes. She sailed for Cleveland cliffs from her commission in 1950 to her layup and scrapping in the mid 1980s. The vessel is remembered for her high speed and unique profile, unseen on other victory ship conversions on the lakes.

This vessel is a small size scaled down replica.
