Anvil Mechs

0.5 – The Outlaw Update

In vanilla Starbound, due to the racial-themed mech bodies causing an inflated number of low-tier mechs, there becomes less and less variety as you get access to the highest tier of mechs. Attempting to rectify this, I created this mod! Currently, this mod adds four bodies and five arms, but I plan to keep adding more over time. Blueprints to these components have all been added to the Experimental Mech Blueprint, found on Extreme difficulty space encounters, and all can be crafted at a Mech Crafting Station.

  • The Anvil mech body is a walking tank, protecting the user behind solid metal armor.
  • The Power Hammer mech arm is slower than the energy blade, but houses a gravtational wave generator to keep distance from your enemies.
  • The Inferno mech body is powered by white-hot magma, making up for its lack of armor with deep energy reserves.
  • The Incinerator mech arm is a two-nozzled flamethrower, dealing extreme damage up close but consuming a large ammount of energy.
  • The Warlock mech body is granted power and protection from ancient arcane forces.
  • The Conjurer mech arm binds daggers of pure energy to do your whim.
  • The Summoner mech arm summons heat-seeking arrows to swarm your enemies.
  • The Gunslinger mech body is shielded by a ruggized coat made of a dense solarium weave.
  • The Ranger mech arm weilds a massive revolver capable of launching explosive bolts of plasma.
  • Additionally, there are a few other mech parts that I’ve decided to hide. See if you can find them yourself!
Compatability issues

This mod should work with other mods that just add content, but any mod that significantly changes countent and functionality of mechs may have issues with compatibility. This mod does work with Frackin Universe, but beyond that I can’t guarantee anything, so if you have any issues, please let me know the specifics in the "Bug Reports" discussion below!

Those of you having issues with Anvil mechs with FU: you can make it work 100% fine by extracting the assets and having them load via the /mods folder. Seems to do the trick in getting it to load prior to FU, until the author can address the problem.
