Alternative Lighting – Original
With Gathering Storm Firaxis updating the angle of the sunlight and adjusted various other lighting settings. This simple mod reverts the lighting back to how it was pre-Gathering Storm with the exception of keeping the cloud shadows. Nothing else is changed apart from the game lighting.
Why did I make this mod?
I just preferred the sun angle from R&F rather than GS. I find too much of the art is in shadow with the GS lighting and like to see things more lit up and colourful. They obviously wanted to create a slightly darker more brooding feel to go with GS. So it’s a matter of taste. I think if you set the time to midday you should see the difference.
The time of day in the screenshots above is 3pm.
