Crusaders! (New unit and religious belief)
Adds the Crusader, a powerful new land combat unit made available by a new Religious Belief.
New Follower Belief: Crusade – Allows spending Faith to train Crusaders. +10 Religious Strength to Inquisitors. (the old Crusade belief has been renamed to Just War)
New Unit: Crusader – 2 movement. 40 Combat Strength. 110 base cost. Must be purchased with Faith.
Land combat unit with a unique promotion tree and no maintenance cost. +5 Combat Strength against units of Civilizations following another Religion. +2 Movement if this unit starts in enemy territory.
TIER 1
Penitence – When defeating an enemy unit, gain Faith equal to that unit’s Combat Strength.
Depredations – When defeating an enemy unit, gain Gold equal to that unit’s Combat Strength.
TIER 2
Bulwark of Faith – +5 Combat Strength in all situations. +5 additional Combat Strength while defending.
Baptism of Blood – +5 Combat Strength in all situations. +5 additional Combat Strength while attacking.
TIER 3
Hospitaller – Heal at the end of every turn.
Knights Templar – Pillaging only costs 1 Movement point. +50 Health from pillaging any Improvement or District.
TIER 4
Revelation – +10 Combat Strength in all situations. Intimidate adjacent enemy units, reducing Combat Strength by 5.
- The Warrior Monk, like the Crusader, no longer has any maintenance cost. (they’re ascetic monks who consciously deprive themselves of mortal desires!)
