A CUP-Based recreation of the Bexhill Refugee Camp from the 2006 film Children of Men.
Also includes 3 CUP-Based recreations of the British soldiers seen in the camp.

After almost two decades of worldwide human infertility, massive societal collapse and turmoil has ensued. These circumstances have led to a massive amount of refugees seeking asylum in the few remaining nations with functional governments left. With Great Britian being one such nation, many of these migrants began attempting to reach it. Already teetering on collapse, the British government eventually forbade most, if not all travel to the country, and began construction of massive refugee camps, mainly in coastal areas. Brexhill, one such camp, was once a quaint seaside town, but has now been evacuated, walled off, and transformed into a notorious immigrant detention center. It now exists sealed off from the outside world and in an extremely dilapidated, chaotic, and overcrowded state. It serves as a dumping ground for the massive amount of illegal migrants within the country, where they are hunted down and placed into these camps. The camp itself is lawless, with only the perimiter and surrounding area closely surveilled by the government, while the refugees within it are left to their own devices.

This composition was made over the course of two days, and i sincerely hope you all enjoy it. The film this is based on is also worth a watch.

PERFORMANCE

The map was bult over the course of 2 days, and uses many objects. Most of these have been set to simple objects, as well as having their simulations disabled in order to improve performance. In the editor, the performance can be considerably improved by pressing backspace, and hiding the object icons, as the sheer saturation of them can reduce in-editor performance. However, keep in mind that this may just be a result of my own hardware. I built and tested this map using a generic, crappy, work laptop, rather than a gaming-oriented computer, and while i get near-normal performance when playing the map, being in the editor with the HUD open and all object icons visible did drastically decrease my performance. However, this may only apply to me. And, assuming you’re not on a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ work laptop like me, you may get considerably better results than i have.

HOW TO PLACE THE COMPOSITION CORRECTLY (EXTREMELY IMPORTANT)

In order to place this composition correctly, please ensure you are placing it on a FLAT terrain, and make sure SURFACE SNAPPING and VERTICAL MODE are DISABLED. The composition will ALWAYS spawn slightly higher than normal, which will initially make it appear broken. However, this can easily be fixed.
HOW TO FIX COMPOSITION HEIGHT
When placing the composition, it will ALWAYS spawn at an abnormal height, in order to fix this, simply select the WHOLE composition, then focus on an easily identifiable object such as a car. With the WHOLE COMPOSITION SELECTED, use the car to drag the rest of the composition to ground level. To do this, drag the car down until its wheels are touching the ground as a normal car would. If done correctly, and if you had the ENTIRE composition selected while dragging a car to ground level within it, the rest of it should move to ground level along with the car.

Only the listed CUP addons are required, DLC props are used, but DLC is not necessary to use them.
