The King of Avarice – Tomb King Rakhash
This is a campaign mod which adds to the skill tree of the DLC Rise of the Tomb Kings technology tree acquired Lord – King Rakhash.

………………………………………………..
The Tech tree granted Tomb King Lords can be a bit bland, effectively re-skinned base Tomb Lords with no additional skill abilities and a dynasty ability to give them a bit of flavour. This mod attempts to add to the depth that Tomb King Rakhash has, effectively making him upto near Legendary Lord campaign-level status by adding powerful unique campaign skills.
………………………………………………..
The lore for King Rakhash is admittedly sketchy and thin from the Warhammer Armies books and other sources. I managed to patch together and read as much as I honestly think is out there when creating this mod. Given the fragmentary nature of the lore, I look a bit of a different approach to his skills than my last mod. I’ve tried to pull together his lore into some kind of linear storyboard and lay that out for the player.
So what do we know?
We know he crossed the mountains seeking great wealth, conquering all who stood in his way so his first skill gives his armies +8 melee attack bonus when fighting in mountains.
Marching is mentioned again and again, he clearly marched his forces a lot crossing Nekehara many times. So his second skill increases his speed, his armies speed, and his ability to march with perfect vigor.
The next four skills address the overwhelming trait to be found in the lore; Rakhash’s avarice. Rakhash desired and thirsted for gold above all else be that tribute, gold from sacking cities, or gifts from his adoring people in Rasetra. These four skills when taken together make Rakhash a money making Tomb King, one who if aggressively played will generate decent surpluses of gold for the player.
The final skill is the oddity in the lore, but perhaps gives a clue as to exactly why King Rakhash obsessed over money so much. King Rakhash is credited with "the restoration of khemri", no mention is made anywhere of exactly how he did it, but I think it’s safe to presume that the vast wealth he accumulated played a part in this. So perhaps all this greed and avarice had a point? Perhaps.

I will at some point probably return to this mod at a later date to add a couple of unique items.

Update: Just push an update to this mod. The game itself was extremely flakey when it came to the very first skill which required it to recognise mountains as a terrain. The mod was set up right, however the game itself caused a number of crashes at time you entered battle due it it not being particularly good at recognising mountains. Sometimes it would work fine, others it would CTD when you initated a battle. Given CTD’s are annoying in the extreme, I decided after much, much fiddling and attempt to get this aspect of the mod to work to instead just swap out for a simple +15% marching bonus the first skill in the skill line until I can get the mountain skill bonus to work consistantly without crashing. This could unfortunately be something I can’t do a lot about as I think it may be an issue to do with the client itself, but I’ll keep trying 🙂
TLDR: The +8 Mountain fighting bonus is currently +15% Campaign March distance.
