Latam – Model Houses 1
OVERVIEW
Facing severe housing shortages caused by massive rural exodus in the mid XX century and with little financial resources and machineries at their disposal many Latin American governments opted to focus their public housing policies on building giant complexes of single-family houses, instead of the more machine intensive and cost-effective but expensive flats that were growing in popularity in Europe.
Two other factors are important to mention: i) the strong lobby of civil constructions businessman, who prefered building many small houses than few large apartments, and ii) the fear of backlashes from the US that could be imposed under Latin countries that adopted "soviet" housing policies.
Those huge complexes of "model houses" are still the most common form of public housing project in many regions in the continent. While far from being great houses they are usually very accessible and offer some privacy to the residents – most of the complaints from the residents come from the lack of proper infrastructure in those neighboorhods, not against the houses proper.
GAMEPLAY
Those houses offer small population density – 3 workers for house – but are relatively cheap and with good housing quality – 79-82%.
Basically those houses should be one of your main choices for rural/suburban areas that require only minimal workforce available.

FINAL NOTES
In real life Brazil has a strong single family house culture – most people can’t afford them, but everyone wishes to live in one. So those model houses, while being modest at best, are usually welcomed by the population.
Also, remember that you have to subscribe to the mod "Latam – Building Parts 1" for this to work."
