Description:

Anthro Survivors – Scalies!

(the "Scaly Mod")

Now with submods for:
Anthro Superb Survivors! support by NightScale5755
Scaly Zeds support by Sai

Anthro Survivors (aka the "Furry Mod") allows you to play Project Zomboid as an anthropomorphic animal — in other words, as a furry. However, at the time of uploading, there’s no scalies present in the addon. So I took it into my own hands!

This mod adds 16 variants of the scaly model and 18 unique skins (textures) for them.
This means that there are, in total, 288 combinations of the scaly player you can choose to use!
I love customisability, so I really made sure to include it into this mod.

On the model itself, you can customise whether it has ears, hair or horns.

It’s grouped as follows:

Scaly_
1a
1b
1c
1d
2a
2b
2c
2d
Ears
Hair
Horns

And as for the skins, you can choose between these 18!

Choose your own unique look 🙂

Be sure to give the mod a Thumbs Up and Favourite it if you like it!

It’ll make my pea brain happy 🙂

Questions & Answers

– Can you add Anthro Zeds and Anthro Superb Survivors compatibility?
Somebody else would have to take up that job, as I’m more of an artist rather than a programmer.
If you’re up for it, feel free to release it as another submod, with my mod as a dependency! (don’t re-upload my mod itself!)

– Does this replace the existing furry models, or add new ones to the mix?
This submod adds 8 new species categories! The variants account for differences to the ears, hair and horns, which is explained above.

– Can I use this on an existing character, save or world?
There’s 2 methods that I’m aware of that will allow you to use a different species on your existing world.
First one is experimental — as in, I haven’t tried it myself yet.
If you first disable the Anthro Survivors and Scalies mods from your world, enter it with them disabled (you should now be a human), then exit and re-enable those mods on the worlds, then once you enter it you **might** be prompted with the option to change your species.

The second method, however, is the one I used on my personal world.
I just killed my character, made a new one with the species I want, then used debug mode & cheats to give me my skills back that I had on my previous character.

– One of these skins looks like my fursona. Can you delete, privatise or alter it?
Short answer is no. Whether one of the existing 18 skins happens to look like your fursona is purely happenstance; I came up with these designs on the spot and aimed to not recreate any particular designs that I already knew existed to people I’ve personally come across.
If one of these happens to look like yours… be happy? You’re now able to play Project Zomboid as your own fursona lmfao.

– Can I use this mod’s files in order to recreate my own fursona?
As is in the spirit of the dependency mod, feel free to!
However, you also have to follow the same rules:
• You cannot claim that the model is your own work;
• If you’re uploading your submod to the workshop, you must set my mod as a dependency, or otherwise link to it in the description;
• You can choose to set the submod as public! (or unlisted).

Known Issues

– The female variants of the model are painfully thin.
This is to prevent the majority of clipping issues when putting on clothes. I really tried to avoid making it this thin but I kept on running into clipping no matter what I did. In the future, I’m going to remake the female variants of the model so that it doesn’t clip, so this is only a temporary fix for now. In the meantime… just put on some clothes, I guess?

– The hat placement is a bit wacky.
This model is a bit shorter than the human or other furry species due to its head shape, so hats are inevitably going to float a bit above it. This is something I don’t think I can fix as the placement is supposedly dependent on the hat item’s definition, rather than on the skeleton of the model.

– Makeup looks a bit off.
Uhh… you can use makeup in Project Zomboid?

Planned Feature Updates
