Description:
DESCRIPTION

Chastiser class is a class of Multi Purpose frigates that has entered service in 1976 with the cinstruction of a lead ship HMS Chastiser, numbering a total of 67 warships built. The frigate represents a combination of firepower and small size, it has a wide variety of purposes starting from Air defence to Anti Submarine Warfare. They were relatively fast, agile and powerful at cost of protection. Instead the idea was to not allow anything to hit the ship rather than attempt to hold the hit itself. 30 of those frigates served during Falklands war with loss of 15 primarily due to enemy submarine attacks. The last ship was decommissioned in 2007, none of the class is remaining today.
