Alternate Arms for Elder Kings II
Alternate Arms is a coat of arms mod for Elder Kings 2 that aims to bring greater character, consistency, and complexity to the banners of Tamriel. This is done by adding, altering, or adjusting over 250 different coats of arms (so far) for the varying ruling families of Tamriel. The aim of this project is to one day have a proper set of arms for every ruling family present in every start date, including historic characters not yet seen in any start date.
What you can expect from the mod thus far:
– Every ruler above baron level with Atmoran heritage now has a custom CoA.
– Every ruler above baron level with Cyrodillic heritage now has a custom CoA.
– Every ruler above baron level with Akaviri heritage now has a custom CoA.
– Every ruler above baron level with Orsimeri heritage now has a custom CoA.
– Every ruler above baron level with Goblinkin heritage now has a custom CoA.
– Added arms for some historic characters.
– Added arms for some Aldmeri houses.
– Added arms for some titles, including a more consistent tier set for the imperial city, as well as arms for Orsinium & Greater Orsinium.
– Greater consistency between CoAs of the same or similar cultural group.
What you can expect in the next update:
– Arms for every reachman ruler above baron level.
– Any surprises I may yet throw in.
This is a work-in-progress project done by a community member with my own taste and blind-spots. Community suggestions, especially for alterations to arms or for ideas for different symbols to better align with the established lore, will always be welcome.
Many of these arms began as community suggestions for the Elder Kings team. If you’re interested in contributing your own arms or DNA to the project, they have a discord channel set up under the CK3/EK2 section of their server for exactly those submissions, and your contribution many get included in the official mod (this was the case for roughly 100 of my own contributions prior to making this mod).
