What do

Update Added Errant Shields Knight Heraldy

Replaces the shields used by the knights of the realm, royal and normal pegasus knights and hippogriff knights with a set of 72 thematic shields divided into groups of 9 with each group assigned to one of the main duchies in the game, specifically Aquitaine, Artois, Bastonne, Bordeleaux, Carcassone, Couronne, Lyonesse and Parravon.

Characteristics of the shields

Each shield is made by making the most of the features of the game and trying to stay as faithful as possible to the role-playing game

  • heraldry, each set of 9 shields reflects the heraldry of the associated duchy, then reproduces the original heraldry of warhammer, then adding heraldic elements inspired by / taken from the English / French heraldry to which the game is inspired;
  • Shields, it is not a question of simple copy and paste but of remakes of the same. This was made necessary by the implementation of the file mask in the same. These files allow them to "adapt" to the colors of the mount and the rider, so there will no longer be a fixed set of colors for the shields but in whole or in part they will change adapting to the knight and caparison;
  • In addition to the implementation of the red / green masks, the mod changes for the units of knights available, the combinations of colors available, using the original Cittadel shades and bases and the colors of each faction, each knight and caparison has about 150 possible color variations which of course, in addition to affecting the knight and the caparison, are also reflected on the shields. Of course the colors are not random but at least one of the two is related to the colors of the faction, so each of the 8 ducats will have its own unique combination of colors;
  • Each shield is also made using in addition to the base and the mask and the material map. This addition compared to the original shields and those usually made, allows you to add lighting effects to the shields. In particular, the light hitting the shields will generate a reflection effect that can manifest itself with a change in color of the shield itself or a reflection. This addition and a particular "mania" of mine, the shields are too static, they do not have that "metallic" effect that was often used by knights and foot soldiers to "blind" the enemy so that they can be hit easily. I didn’t want to add this "feature" as a class skill, but as a simple graphical rendering.
