This simple revolution will make you live a more real experience of battle.
SPACING:
This mod makes it less homogeneous formations. Now, each formation is closer to the reality of battle.
There are people who think that this mod is good, and others who wish to formation hard lines, narrow, perfect. I’ve posted some comments, but I would add that life is not a movie.
War is imperfection, confusion, noise, disorder, NERVOUSNESS, and not a military parade. But even during a parade errors may occur…
Guys, for Romans and Greeks the lines are there. The formations are there.
COMPACT and DISCIPLINE ARE NOT SYNONYMOUS WITH PERFECTION. The mod says this. The barbarians have personalism and audacity, the Romans and Greeks are organized. BUT for all the rule is that perfection does not exist.

"This really is spot on in my opinion. Romans and Greeks would hold a formation but I’m sure they didn’t line up like they were getting ready for a rank inspection. Holding a perfect formation wihle running in full armor with weapons would be nearly impossible….let alone during fighting where men are exhausted, wounded etc. Keeping a basic formation and having disciplined men is where the success came from…..not looking pretty and lined up perfectly."

"how could 200 men could run together and keep their ranks perfectly lined? Of course the core of the roman tactic was keeping formation and ranks, but it would be impossible to keep it perfect all the time, especially with javelins stones and arrows flying about, fear, wounded… The HBO series Rome shows exactly how the roman legions fought, they would sheathe their gladius and hold/push the soldier directly in front of him for formations sake. But CA did not give us that little trick, so all I can say is thank you very much author, looking forward to play this!"

It appear to add certain realism to what we call dynamic theatre organizaton: troops did not always remain in perfect formation; often broke rank when defending and sometimes would get confused or simply not keep up with other cohort troops when mobalizing. The imperfections of any battle formation is simply the state of any active theatre. The key is in the overall training, discipline, and motivation of the troops and leadership. A well fought battle is little more than controlled chaos–an odd reality indeed, but one that is so nonethless."

SPACING MOD is compatible with almost all other mod.
