This mod REQUIRES Select Natural Wonders++. Both these mods are compatible with Terra Mirabilis.

Kerepakupai Merú is the original indigenous Pemon name for what is better known as Angel Falls. Located in Canaima National Park in Venezuela, Angel Falls is renowned as the tallest uninterrupted waterfall in the world, boasting an impressive height of 979 meters (3,212 feet). As the water plummets from the tabletop mountain of Auyán-tepui, it transforms into a breathtaking silver veil, creating a magnificent display of mist and thunderous roars.

Kerepakupai Merú

One tile impassable natural wonder. The city that owns Kerepakupai Merú receives +2 Gold from each unimproved feature. After Flight is researched receive +1 Tourism on all of that city’s tiles with a feature or natural wonder. +2 Appeal from Rainforest tiles in the city. It provides Fresh Water.

FAQ:

Why doesn’t it flow into a river?

Natural Wonders are placed onto a map after the map has already been generated. So I would have to restrict it to spawning in locations where there’s already a river in the exactly correct configuration. Which would mean it’d probably just never spawn 🤷‍♂️

Why does it require Select Natural Wonders++?

Angel Falls requires custom placement rules. Generally speaking these custom placement rules are hardcoded into a single file: so you need to replace the entire file to add more. This is what Terra Mirabilis does for their wonders. Which means multiple mods doing the same thing would break. In Select Natural Wonders++ I’ve replaced the file to make it support adding custom placement rules modularly (including support for Terra Mirabilis itself), so multiple mods can add new placement rules without breaking anything!

Wait, what are custom placement rules?

Extra special restrictions on where a wonder can spawn. For example, the Giant’s Causeway always spawns with one tile on land, one tile on water. Angel Falls is a one tile natural wonder that can only spawn on plains or grassland tiles where the two tiles to the north are mountains, but the two tiles to the south are NOT mountains. I could have forced there to be a river flowing out from the tile this way, but it’d likely never spawn since the spawn conditions would almost never be met.
