Surviving the storm
Thanks ChatGPT for the mod name.
Surviving the storm is a work in progress mod as new features will be added in the future but what is here is already completed. I decided to release it now because this mod absorbs one mechanic that was initially in Dynamic Traits mod.
Now the rain will actually make the clothing and the player get wet in a time that makes sense (in vanilla you can spend hours and hours under the rain to reach Moodle Lv2).
Aspects considered in how fast/slow the wetness will increase
- Rain intensity
- Wind intensity
- Clothing water resistance
- Clothing wind resistance
- If the player is wearing a Poncho and/or an Umbrella.
Now the Snow will slightly make some of your clothes wet based on the next aspects
- Snow intensity
- Wind intensity
- Fog intensity
- Clothing water resistance
- Clothing wind resistance
- Clothing insulation
Wearing a Poncho and/or an Umbrella does not change anything here.
Clothes wetness
A % of the total wetness of all the clothings is added to the player.
Whenever a thunderstorm occurs a world sound is added to the coordinates in which the thunderstorm happened. A thunderstorm can occur on any part of the map which means that you can be in Rosewood and the sound happens in Louisville and moves zombies there. You may never notice that, or you may do… 🙂
The radius of the sound can be configured in the sandbox settings, by default it has 500 (as a reference, the gun event from vanilla has 600).
This feature is particularly useful if you want to move zombies across the map when using the pinpoint hearing configuration for zombies.
