Guide (may contain spoilers):

There are three starting options, one allows you to start directly as Emperor, one as commander and one to start as beggar.
If you choose to start as beggar, the following is usefull:
-First of all, explore the world. There are many interesting places on the world map, which can help you to get money early on. Especially visit Rome, there is a person, which can give you a quest and some special merchants. It is highly recommended to do the quest, as it will be helpfull when you want to become emperor.
-At some point, you should join the Roman army. You can do this by talking to ANY Roman general, or the Emperor. As said before, it is recommended to play as a Roman!
-It is possible to gain controll of Roman towns, without conquering them. For this to happen, several conditions must be fuliffied: The lord of the town must have a "bad" personality, this means he is either quarrelsome, selfrighteous, cunning or debauched, you must have high renown (300>) and high relation with the town (25>)
-Finally, the goal is to become Emperor. The best way to achiev this, is to have powerfull friends. You should have high relations with the commander of the praetorian guard, Kaeso Flavius, and the "Fire of Rome" event should have happened. Note, that the commander of the praetorian guard is a normal Lord of the Roman faction.
-If you are emperor, don’t forget to visit the Imperial palace in Rome. There you have many options, to govern the empire.
-I recommend to have a taxerate of 20% or 25% (if you really need money up to 50% is also fine), if you set the tax rate to high revolts can occur and events related to corrupt tax collectors (btw the probability increases quadratic with the tax rate)
-make sacrifics to the gods (either through killing catlle or talking to a priest) can give you various benefits (more attribute points for example), but it is highly probabilistic. If you want to improve your attributes points, the help of the gods can be usefull (but as said before, it is highly probabilistic)

For Mac and Linnux users

If you are using Linnux: Get the programm Proton (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proton_(software))
and run the mod using this programm, it fixes all bugs that come with the Linnux port of warband (bugged font, etc).

Otherwise:
To fix the font you need to delete the new font in the mod folder, for this you need to go to your mod folder:
First, find the steam folder, there you go into the steamapps folder, there you go into the workshop folder, there you go into the content folder, there you go into the 48700 folder (that is where warband mods downloaded via workshop are stored) there you go into the 1612746028 folder (this is the mod folder)
In the mod folder, delete the file font.dds (can be found in subfolder Textures) and the file font_data.xml (can be found in the subfolder Data)
This should fix any issues with fonts as game will now use native font again.
