This mod unites the Roman Empire into a single entity, among many other changes.

The year is AD395 and the Roman Empire is in a dire position. For the past two centuries the empire has been in steady and deep decline, owing to the incompetent leadership of its emperors and the competing ambitions of its generals. Few emperors such as Aurelian, Diocletian and Constantine managed to halt the decline temporarily and reunite the empire into a single entity with the current emperor – Theodosius Flavius – being the most recent to accomplish such a feat.

However all is not well in the empire and beyond. The Goths, fleeing the marauding Huns sought refuge in empire and due to various reasons, rebelled against their Roman hosts and in the process – destroyed the last Roman army of any significance that would have been able to counter them. The emperor Theodosius managed to bring the Goths to heel, but now a Gothic rebellion led by Alaric threatens the empire once more. Furthermore, barbarians from beyond Rome’s northern frontiers flock en-mass towards the empires borders. Ostrogoths, Visigoths, Alans, Huns, Quadi, Saxons and Jutes seek to exploit the situation of the declining Roman Empire.

Can Theodosius, commanding an empire reunited bring a halt to Rome’s decline, defeat the invading barbarians and restore the empire to its former glory ?

Full list of changes:

– Roman Empire united into a single faction

– Roman starting armies now more balanced

– Roman provincial infrastructure is now in line with historical accuracy

– Removed the ‘constant immigration’ – ‘benefit’ (eye brows raised) of the Roman Empires faction trait

– Huns spawn 2 armies (at most) once every 2 years. Hun armies have also been capped at a substantially lower number.
