Description:

The AC-12, known also as Southern Pacific Cab Forwards, were articulated steam locomotives built in 1943 and 1944 to haul heavy freight trains over throughout the Southern Pacific system, notably Donner Pass. The locomotive had its cab located in front of the boiler, to keep the smoke and soot away from the crew members while it went through long tunnels. The locomotives were all retired by late 1958, with one example (X4294) in preservation.

This pack features 3 locomotive variants and 2 tender variants. The locomotive has smoke, lights, custom wheels, and both locomotive and tender feature LIVERY SUPPORT! To make a livery, you must copy the template file of the original models (AC12 White rims; AC12 Tender), paste it in the custom assets folder, and modify it to your heart’s content. Franks (the creator of the game) has a guide which goes into more detail than what I have the energy to write. I’m not sure if the template is the greatest, however I tried my best. Feel free to post suggestions to improve the template, so my future work can be as high quality as I want it to be.

In regards to future projects, I plan on making Timken’s Four Aces and UP’s main steam excursion fleet in the "near" future (I’m not sure in what order yet…), and I already have some more ideas for long term goals. You’ll just have to wait and see. 🙂
