Description:

New York Central’s Niagaras were 4-8-4 steam locomotives designed to replace the Hudsons and Mohawks that came before it, and they were considered to be some of the most efficient steam locomotives ever built.
In 1946, the Niagaras were used as part of a study, in which 6 were used against 6 sets of E7 diesel locomotives. The diesels proved to be more cost effective, less labor intensive, more versatile, and were overall better performers than the steamers. by July of 1956, all of the Niagaras were scrapped.

This mod group contains 2 Niagaras with different light configurations and a centipede tender. the locomotives have custom wheels, lights, steam particles, and smoke deflectors, toggled with Shift+1. The tender has a rear light, toggled with Shift+1.

Thank you all so much for the support on my 4000 class pack! I appreciate it heavily, and once I have more free time, I’ll try to make more mods. SP Cab Fowards, UP’s FEFs and Challengers, as well as a minor revamp of the 4000s, hopefully all with livery support, are on that list. But right now, I have more important things to do, so please be patient.
