Pan Am Specialty
(first pan am pack lets gooo)
Through Pan Am’s 16 years of operations a few special locomotives have appeared on the roster, ranging from the famous OCS sister locomotives PAR 1 and 2 to the illusive shop switcher SW1 #007. this pack depicts a handful of these hidden gems
PAR 1 and 2 are a pair of GMD FP9s built in 1954 these units first began service with CN until they were bought by VIA rail and eventually ended up at conway scenic until being acquired by Pan Am in 2009.
MEC 614 is an Ex-Clinchfield SD45-2 that was passed down to a number of owners including SBD, CSX, HATX, and TFM when sometime in 2006 it was aquired by HLCX and rebuilt into an SD40M-2 where it was bought by Pan Am and continued operating until 2017 (why did i include this? idk.)
PAR 007 is a EMD SW1 not much is known about this motor except that it’s the waterville shop switcher (in 2020 it almost fell into the waterville yard turntable)
MEC 52 and 77 are a pair of EMD GP9s both of B&M heritage in 2011 both units were painted into B&M and MEC heritage schemes, in 2018 these units would be sold to the heber valley railway in heber, UT
MEC 411 is a GP40 with a fictional what if scheme of the very first pan am paintjob only worn by MEC 511 featuring both the pan am globe and pan am lettering logo
ST 101 and 102 are two passenger cars used on the OCS (not much to say here folks)
