Anti Zombie Men-At-Arms
Adds anti-zombie men-at-arms for use against the Zombie Hordes in the Zombie Apocalypse Mod.
To obtain these men-at-arms, you must obtain the Zombie Slayers tradition. This can be achieved the normal way, costing 5000 prestige and 25 years (assuming you’re not using a mod that makes obtaining traditions faster), or by a decision costing 7500 prestige and some piety.
Currently all but one of these are zombie-slayer versions of base-game men-at-arms. Most cultural men-at-arms don’t have zombie-slayer versions, but camels, elephants and horse-archers do.
Each of these has a counter of 2 against zombies, so each sub-regiment of these you have is 1000 enemy zombies made weaker when you face them in battle.*
There is a single unique anti-zombie men-at-arms. Zombie Trappers:
– About equal to levies in straight-up combat, except in forests, tiaga and jungles where they perform slightly better.
– No pursuit.
– Massive screen.
– Massive anti-zombie counter of 20. A single trapper unit makes 10,000 enemy zombies weaker in any battle.
– Lore: They make it harder for zombies to surround and overwhelm your soldiers in battle with traps (the counter) and harder for them to pursue your forces if you’re forced to retreat (screen).
A lot of people don’t know how countering works. Units don’t take extra damage from enemy units they’re countered by. Units get their stats reduced by enemy units they’re countered by.
For example having 100 skirmishers in your army makes 100 enemy heavy infantry have reduced stats, because skirmishers counter heavy infantry by 1, and if they countered heavy infantry by 2 then 200 enemy infantry would have reduced stats.
All this being said so you doofuses can be smart about how you make your armies. 100 trappers per 10,000 zombies, everything past that should be focused on dealing damage to and tanking damage from the zombies.
