Crusader Kings II Music – Complete
Welcome to the Complete Collection of music from Crusader Kings II, for Crusader Kings III!
This mod should contain all music ever released for Crusader Kings II, around 100 unique tracks, including those not released separately as part of the Holy Fury and Jade Dragon expansions.
This mod does not replace any of the CK3 tracks (aside from the main menu music) and it will still randomly play in-between CK2 ones if you still have them enabled in the music player. Many of the DLC tracks have been weighted as ‘priority mood’ though so you should, on average, hear the CK2 tracks more frequently than the CK3 ones if all are enabled.
Aside from the vanilla tracks included in the base game (see video above), this mod includes music from the following expansions/DLC:
- Holy Fury
- Jade Dragon
- Songs of Albion
- Songs of Faith
- Songs of the Holy Land
- Songs of the Caliph
- Songs of Byzantium
- Songs of the Rus
- Songs of Prosperity
- Hymns to the Old Gods
- Hymns of Abraham
- Songs of India
- Songs of the Steppes
- Hymns of Revelation
- Orchestral House Lords
- Viking Metal
- Full Plate Metal
- Pagan Fury
- Pagan Fury – Warrior Queen
- Songs of Yuletide
If you want to have a look under the bonnet and see exactly how the mod selects tracks to play in-game, take a look at the comprehensive list of music triggers.
- 24 Jan, 2021 – Event popups and war declarations will no longer constantly interrupt the tracks. Be aware that this only applies to the music added in this mod, vanilla music will still be interrupted. However, considering most people using this mod prefer the CK2 soundtrack anyway, this can probably be considered a good thing!
- 28 May, 2021 – With the Northern Lords flavour pack, music triggers have been added to the game. Utilising this for the mod, songs should now play for the appropriate cultures, religions and regions as they did in CK2 (no more Chinese music when playing as a Catholic Irish duke!).
- 26 Sep, 2024 – With the addition of a music player with the Roads to Power expansion, this mod now features full music player support, allowing you to add or remove any track from the game while you’re playing with the checking (or unchecking) of a box!
Saves made before downloading this mod can be loaded and played as normal!
This should also be fully compatible with most vanilla-focused mods, even ones that also alter the in-game music (though I haven’t tested this). The only potential for conflict is if a mod has music files with names that are identical to ones in here.
This will work, to an extent, with overhaul mods like A Game of Thrones although you will only be able to hear the base-game CK2 tracks since the music triggers will not work with entirely custom cultures and map regions. I may release future music packs as sub-mods for the major overhaul mods in the future, but I currently have no plans to do so.
All languages supported in vanilla CK3 are now also supported in the mod.
French, German and Spanish essentially use the same localisation as English since, I assume, all these languages use the English names for the songs and their corresponding DLCs. If this is incorrect, please let me know.
This mod’s Chinese localisation was kindly provided by 無壹 as part of their noble initiative to provide proper Chinese localisations for a wide range of CK3 mods.
Russian and Korean localisations are likely quite poor in quality and any translations by proficient speakers would be greatly appreciated!
Here are some other mods I humbly recommend you run alongside this one to improve your experience. None of them are required for this mod to work:
- CK2 Selection Music by Agami – This adds the musical tones from CK2 that played every time you selected a character in the main menu which, when done quickly, would create a charming little melody. A simple, but much-loved feature that was sadly not carried over to CK3. Good for players who want that full CK2 musical experience.
- One-Click Music Player by yours truly – As the name suggests, it adds a button to the UI that allows you to access the music player without having to first open another menu. Good for users who shuffle through tracks regularly.

If you have any further questions regarding the mod, please have a read through the FAQ before leaving a comment, thanks!

I do not profit from the distribution of any of these mods and should any of the tracks included be officially added by Paradox to Crusader Kings III in the future, they shall be removed!
