The Rainbow
With this mod, I tried to take what makes the Prismatic Shard fun, combining familiar cards in unexpected ways, and add ways to compensate the things that makes it unreliable.
This mod adds a character, the Rainbow, with no cards of its own. Instead, it will randomly choose characters upon starting a run, and mix their card pools together.
Before starting a run with the Rainbow, you can choose how many characters it should mix together, as well as choose between a few perks, using the points you get for every character that will get selected.
The goal is to either limit the negative impact of the Prismatic Shard by reducing the number of characters that get mixed together (which cannot be done by just giving yourself the Shard at the start of the run), or to compensate the objectively negative effect multiplying the card pool size has on a run by granting bonuses.
The character model is one of the randomly selected characters, with a rainbow overlay. Right click your character to cycle through them!
The Rainbow is compatible with all "normal" character mod, and has specific compatibilty with the Packmaster mod.
The Rainbow has more functionalities:
– Randomized starting deck
– Randomized starting relic
– Ability to combine only the chosen characters
– Perks aiming to compensate the objective low reliability of Prismatic Shard runs
– Funny rainbow character model
– Randomized ending cutscene
You may want to prevent some characters from being randomly selected, for example because a large part of their cards depend on their starter relic, or if their card pool isn’t conventionally defined (like the Ruina characters, the Mystery Dungeon mod, and some others). Characters can be disabled or enabled with the checkmark that appears on the top right of the character selection screen.
You can also try specific combinations by clicking the "Force into pool" button. The characters with that option enabled get automatically selected for your next run with the Rainbow.
