Description:

The Kalmar is basically a mobile Deep Sea Engineering and Diving Support Plattform and is derived from its predecessor, the Archytheutis submarine. It is heavily inspired by submarines like the Yankee-Class SSBN and the Deep Sea Stations like the Losharik and the Paltus. Featuring a Moon Bay that can extend into a plattform to sit on the sea floor, providing seamless transitioning between the water and the dry pressure hull inside.

In the Moon Bay also located is a movable Observation Pod, which can be moved into place when the lower plattform is extended to safely view the surroundings while staying dry. The Moon Bay Plattform and the Observation Pod are controlled via the station on the left of the Helm. (Note: wait a few seconds before disconnecting the Hatch magnet so the hatch can close when moving the Pod back, to prevent flooding)

Other features include a winch in the Moon Bay for recovering smaller items from the sea floor, an Escape Pod, a surface navigation bridge, keel spotlights, illumination flares and two diver lockouts, forward and aft. For better maneuverabilty it feautures both horizontal and vertical thrusters for positioning while stationary.

Helm Controlls:
W/S: Manual depth rudders (not active when using Depth Hold)
A/D: Rudder Left/Right
Up/Down: Vertical Thrusters
Left/Right: Horizontal Thrusters
Hotkey 1: Flare Right
Hotkey 2: Flare Left

**Update: changed the ballast to be almost neutrally buoyant (please keep in mind that neutral buoancy is hard to achieve on a vehicle this size while also maintaining enough ballast to have it settle securely on the sea floor)**
